CASA PROJECT
In 2007, the Court Appointed Special Advocates group of Ulster County sponsored a fundraiser
for area children needing special services. These children have
societal problems and typically come from broken families. Members of
the Mid-Hudson Woodworkers donated time each Wednesday for several
weeks to build a children's playhouse. Other community groups donated
the construction materials, paint, labor and transportation. Raffle
tickets were sold at the Hudson Valley Mall where the playhouse was on
display for several weeks. A drawing was held that September, with the
proceeds to benefit the children.
